Around here the JWs are like 3D graffiti. They might get a few glances, that's about it. There are so many other "preachers" standing around with loud speakers, or signs, or driving around in vans with signs and loudspeakers. JWs are just another flavor of religious nuts. -

I Don't Get It!
by John Aquila inthere are literally about thirty young single very good looking sisters in this one kingdom hall under the age of 30. that is just one kingdom hall.
in the circuit there are literally hundreds of young beautiful jw girls under 30 who are single and anxious to get married.
about two years ago, this one single good looking brother who is about 30 years old and who is an elder married this plain looking sister who is 59 years old.

I found JWland, those crapventions, and its bethel headquarters to be a terrible place to even consider dating and meeting someone. Lots of clumsy conversations with false expectations that just talking will lead to marriage. And if other JWs see you talking, all the gossip starts. For many of my friends, siblings, relatives, they married others we grew up with... I was related to the girls I grew up with at the Kingdumb Haul.
I wasn't attracted to anyone older than I was, although I knew plenty of guys that chose older. Regarding that crowd of available, pretty, young, single sisters, I knew plenty like that. It seemed to me that there was a crowd of 30 sisters that would idolize one or two guys in the circuit, and they were just waiting around to see if they had a chance with them before "settling" for someone like me. They weren't all like that, but I had enough experience of talking to a girl that wanted to hear all about the hotter "brother" that I work with. Of course, it certainly went both ways with guys trashing the sisters... a lot.
Yeah, I guess I'm pretty effed up.

Hey, happy birthday!
You could drop a hint by walking around in your "birthday suit"!

Well isn't this a bunch of BS
by Doctor Who inwell, our sister congregation just had their co visit this past week.
on saturday afternoon, i was talking to a couple of ministerial servants in that congregation and they stated that an unmarried brother is not fulfilling to the max what jehovah wants of us.
they stated that the co went on a tirade that if you are unmarried you are being selfish and not following what jehovah wanted for mankind since he created eve as a compliment for the man.

Is there a recording of that talk? It certainly sounds Internet-worthy! A prime example of a CO going rogue. -

Local Elders whip the Congregation into a frenzy about donating to the Organization
by James Jack inbecause of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.

I did a few donation acknowledgement letters. But it was very few. And I've seen the acknowledgement letters my parents received from the Corp for their generous donations to the mother cult *sigh*.
While WT is able to cash in on the JWs, I think it is actually a rather small amount in comparison with what other churches and charities are able to raise. Even a rather small Jewish group around where I live (sorry if this sounds stereotypical) is able to raise massive amounts of money that would make the GB faint out of sensual desire.
As far as JWs go, either they don't have money, or if they have money they realize that they'll get more fun out of spending the money on themselves before this wicked system ends.

It looks like the cover of that Awake! is a picture of all the JWs rushing to donate their window-washing money at a Watchtower Bank. -

You all are too critical of the GB and the brotherhoodedness! They are just following the example of Jesus Christ who must have said somewhere, "The expenses of the organization are projected to exceed the current income, so I need you all to dig deeper and give me more money to help spread the Good News of the Kingdom (and buy pinky rings, new suits, and fancy watches for me)." -

Guess I said more than I should have about "the truth"
by paradisebeauty ina sister came by my house today.
not to see how i was or why i have not been to meetings for the past months - she needed to borrow some money for the upcoming convention.
we chatted a little, and i cound not keep my mouth shut about some questions i have and some discoveries i made about the doctrine.

This sister is "relying on Jehovah". You know, just like the GB is relying on Jehovah by begging for more money from the R & F.
It's becoming a religion that begs for money, yet condemns education and gainful employment that really earns money.

But I have the feeling she will talk to one of them...
So if the elduhs come asking questions, you can say, "hmmm, Sister Whackadoodle came by trying to borrow money and when I said I wasn't comfortable lending, she got furious and made a bunch of threats about how she could make a lot of trouble for me. I guess she figured out how to use you to do her dirty work. Did you happen to loan her the money she wants?"

Back in the Basement
by LostGeneration inlooks like the faithful jws are back in the basement, the oct 15th wt has this image on page 9. but now the lights have been turned out!
i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.
only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

So have they designed a large dark basement for Warwick?
